1.Sare Chuattor	SARE CHUATTOR Sare Chuattor is one of the best comedy movies by Uttam – Suchitra duo. But truly, the movie should be know for the performance by Tulsi Chakrabarty Tulsi Chakrabarty was a very dedicated actor. Like many other supporting actors of old days, he was also deprived of proper fame. Sare Chuyattor got Bhanu, .Molina Debi, Uttam Kumar, Suchitra Sen and many more. 3. Dada Thakur	DADA THAKUR Dadathakur was probably the last film by Chhabi Biswas. The movie is based on the real charecter “dadathakur” who was very famous for his humour. 4. Mahapurush	MAHAPURUSH Mahapurush is based on a shory story Birinchi Baba we all are familiar with. Birinchi Baba was written by Parashuram (Rajsekhar Basu) who was very much known for his great sense of humour. Satyajit Roy directed the movie very well. Charuprakash Ghosh (Birinchi Baba), Rabi Ghosh (Assistant of Birinchi Baba), Prasad Mukherjee (as Gurupada Mitter), Gitali Roy (as Buchki), Santosh Dutta (as Professor Noni) all did great. A short film (as it is actually a part of “Kapurush O Mahapurush) that we all should see. CalcuttaTube Rating: 5/5
5. Shriman Prithwiraaj	SHRIMAN PRITHWIRAAJ Shriman Prithwiraaj is based on a story written by Bibhuti Bhusan Mukherjee. It is a very sweet romantic cum comedy movie. This is probably the best movie by Ayan Banerjee. Mahua roy Chowdhury looks really cute. You can always great comedy from Utpal Dutta, Santosh Dutta, Rabi Ghosh, Chinmoy Roy! Biswajeet and Sandhya Roy also sppeared in special roles. This is a great bengali comedy with able direction by Tarun Majumdar. Also, don’t forget great music by Hemanta Mukherjee, Lata Mangeshkar, Arati Mukherjee and Tarun Banerjee. CalcuttaTube Rating: 5/5
6. Basanta Bilap	BASANTA BILAP Basanta Bilap is the name of a ladies hostel! The whole story revolves around whats going on in the ladies hostel where miss Aparna Sen lives. Soumitra Chatterjee is the leader of an infamous club in the area. The members in the club hates woman. The all decided not to fall in love. Things got worse when all members except Soumitra, such as Rabi Ghosh, Chinmoy Roy fell in love with some ladies in Basanta Bilap and started dating! So, why leave Soumitra alone? He finally fell in love with Aparna Sen! Basanta Bilap is classic story written by Tarashankar Banerjee and the movie was directed by Dinen Gupta. A great comedy film with great songs by Manna Dey and Arati Mukherjee. A must watch for all Soumitra Chatterjee fans. CalcuttaTube Rating: 5/5
7. Lukochuri	LUKOCHURI I can not write enough about this film. This is one of “the best” bengali comedy by Kishore Kumar. Kishore Kumar is in double role in this movie with Mala Sinha and Anita Guha. You have to see this movie to really feel the movie. Kishore is in his best form. He dances, sings, talks and does small things here and there that will make you laugh all the time. A really cool romance and full punch of comedy. Hemanta Mukherjee directed the music in this film. Remember the immortal song “Sing Nei Tobe Naam Taar Singho“. 8. Mouchak	MOUCHAK Mouchak is based on a story “Obosheshe” by Samaresh Basu. Another great comedy movie for bengali movie lovers! This time Ranjit Mullick shows his brillance. Uttam Kumar ans Sabitri are Dada-Boudi for our lovely Ranjit Mullick. Ranjit Mullick has to go out for his new job. He was little scared as he never stayed away from home. To his utter surprise, he was welcomed by everybody he met in the new workplace. Soon, he found out that it was because of his “unmarried” status! Now he had to choose from various daughters of his colleagues. In this crutial time he fell in love with Mithu Mukherjee wo lived next to his apartment! Ranjit Mullick should have got more attention and appraisal from the viewed than he ever got. This is a classic movie where you will also find Rabi Ghosh, Anup Kumar, Tarun Kumar and many More. Remember, there is also a hindi version of the movie baned “Damad” where Amal Palekar player the main role. A must watch movie for all. CalcuttaTube Rating: 5/5
9. Ogo Badhu Sundari	OGO BADHU SUNDARI It was the last movie by Uttam Kumar. He passed away even before the completion of the movie. A small portion of the movie has been done by dummies. This is one of the best comedy movie in bengali movie history. You can not complain any against superb Uttam Kumar, Sumitra, Santosh Dutta, Ranjeet Mullick or Mousumi. The movie revolves around some upcoming “club culture” in Kolkata and how that used to affect daily life of simple person like Uttam Kumar. Mousumi is at her best in this movie. The renovation of rustic Mousumi to a “Hi Class” Mousumi by Uttam Kumar is classic. Sumitra will remind any married young lady in our society. They always get jealous about things others got! Ranjit Mullick played a small role. Santosh Dutta is great. The movie is full of humor and great songs like “Ei To Jibon”! A must watch comedy film for all. CalcuttaTube Rating: 4.75/5
10. Bancharamer Bagan	BANCHA RAMER BAGAN Bancharamer Bagan is a true classic by Manoj Mitra. He wrote the story while Tapan Sinhagive proper direction! We call it “Classic”. It is a very high level comedy film that sometimes requires some understanding of the film, characters, and cinematic language. This movie is an example of how you can depict a small story in great way. The story got a message for us. They story tells us how greedy we are. We even want others death to get a small piece of land. The garden of old Bancharam was not anything great, but generations died in lust for the small land while Bancharam lived to see more. Definitely one of the best film by Majon Mitra. He played the role of Bancharam. Dipankar Dey, Biplab Chatterjee, Rabi Ghosh, Madhabi Mukherjee..all gave proper support in this great movie. 11. Bhranti Bilas	BHRANTI BILAS Bharanti Bilas was written by Iswas Chandra Bidyasagar. So, expect great about the movie! Uttam Kumar himself produced the movie with able direction of Manu Sen. Both Uttam Kumar and Bhanu Banerjee are in double role in this movie along with Sabitri chatterjee, Sabita Chowdhury, Chhaya Debi, Tarun Kumar and manu more. Remember that we have a hindi Version of this movie too named “Angoor” where Sanjeev Kumar played the central role and was equally great. The story is too complicated to properly write as we have too many mistakes between two Uttam Kumars and two Bhanu Banerjee! You must watch yourself to get confused and laugh! 12. Chadmabeshi	CHADMABESHI Chadmabeshi is based on a story written by Upendranath Gangopadhyay. All “Agradoot” movies were great. So it was. Uttam Kumar (botanist) got married to Madhabi but Bikash Roy missed the marriage ceremony. Bikash Roy insisted his sister (Madhabi) to visit him as soon as possible. He also wrote that he is looking for good driver. Madhabi always say good things about Bikash Roy and tells how particular he is about the language and all that. Uttam Kumar decides to play a real joke. He goes to Bikash Roy as Driver hence the story begins! Probably all bengali person has already seen this movie multiple times! Watct it again, and you will not feel bore! Remember great Anup Ghoshal song ” Bhoddorlok Ka Ladki Bhage Deraivar Ka sath” or the superb Manna Dey ” Ami Kon Pothe Je Choli“. Subhendu Chatterjee also played a very important character in this movie as friend of Uttam Kumar. Shubhendu is absolutely brilliant in his role. Jahar Roy is classic as a driver role!! 13. Dadar Kirti	DADAR KIRTI Dadar Kirty is based on a story by Sharadindu Bandhopadhyay (the creator of Byomkesh Bakshi). Sharadindu was a expert writer and wrote numerous stories and scripts. Tarun Majumdar directed the film with young Tapas Pal. It was actually the first movie by Tapas Pal. Mahua Roy Chowdhury played against Tapas Pal brilliantly. This is another good movie for Ayan Banerjee who is famous for Shriman Prithwiraaj. Young Debashree Roy is excellent against Ayan Banerjee. Anup Kumar played the role of a local club-leader. Tapas Pal was transferred to Ayan Banerjee’s family as he could not pass his exams after multiple attempts. Tapas Pal is a very simple boy who is full of love, beauty, emotion etc but not with brain to study. He soon exploited by Anup Kumar. Misunderstanding became prevailant between Tapas Pal and Mahua Roy Chowdhury. Anyways, it is a really melodramatic movie with nunerous comedy scenes by Anup Kumar, Mahua, Tapas Pal “Chandabani Club” members and more. A sweet romantic comedy for all. Remember the great song by Hemanta Mukherjee “Charana Dhorite Deogo Amare” in this movie.
14. Dhanni Meye	DHANNI MEYE Dhanni Meye is a story written by Debangshu Mukherjee with able direction of Arobindo Mukherjee. This movie is all about “FOOTBALL” craze that we all bengalis have in our blood! Be it East Bengal, Mohon Bagan or any other club football! Partha Mukherjee is the central charecter after Jaya Bhaduri. Partho Mukherjee is the best footballer in team and he is also brother of Uttam Kumar. He went to play in some village and won the match. The “shield” owner forced Partho Mukherjee to marry Jaya Bhaduri so that they can tell the shield is still with their in-laws. When Partho Mukherjee came back home, be brought both shield and a “wife”. Uttam Kumar took this as big offence and could ot accept Jaya Bhaduri in his gamily. Well, the story is not only about football, it is also about Jaya Bhadury, a simple village girl, about Partha Mukherjee whois also a “lover boy” but fears his brother. It is also about Sabitri – a dedicated housewife! You should watch the film yourself to feel subtle comedy and humour. A great movie of all time! CalcuttaTube Rating: 4.5/5
15. Ekti Raat	EKTI RAAT Ekti Taat was written by Banaphool and directed by Chtta Basu. It is a classic Uttam – Suchitra movie where Uttam Kumar did not actually played against Suchitra Sen but both were the central charecters of the movie. Uttam and Suchitra knew each other and were going to the same destination. Uttam Kumar missed his train and end up going with Suchitra Sen. They had sevseral problems during their journey and had to stay in a motel one night. The motel was owned by Tulsi chakrabarty. The movie is extremely hilarious with numerous great scenes including missing :”Jhunusona” (the pet dog of Suchitra Sen. This movie is also probably seen by all bengali person in multiple times. A classic comedy movie of all time. The movie is also very well supperted by Bhanu Banerjee, Jahar roy, Anup Kumar, Kamal Mitra, Pahadi Sanyal and many more. CalcuttaTube Rating: 5/5
