Flood in Calcutta (Kolkata) reminding 1978!

1978-the great year of my birth! From very childhood I have heard about the great flood that year and how much trouble people had to face due to so much of water. I used to live in Bagnan, Howrah (about 1 hr 15 min in train from Howrah to Bagnan). I heard that our ground floor was completely flooded and train service was discontinued for long period.

Now I live abroad but get calls from family and friends all the time. I have been busy and did not get time to read online Anandabazar for couple of days. I called home yesterday and found out about the great flood in Calcutta! Just did some video search and came up with the cool video displaying the flooding scenario of Kolkata in last few days!! Looks like people were served food via boat in Calcutta roads! If you have any pictures of this great flooding which some of us already started comparing to the great flood of 1978, please send us at calcuttaglobalchat.net@gmail.com.

We wish you all are safe and got enough food and electricity! Please share your experience with this flooding with us. I read it on the other newspaper that more rain is approaching the city of Joy. Store some dry food and stay prepared for the worst.
