Re Nov 11, 2007 comments; a slight correction – the four fabulous songs were from the film ‘Rupali Shoikotey’ released in 1976/77 in Bangladesh, music director was the great Salil Choudhury. Those four singles were sung by Manna Dey, Lata Mngeshkar, Asha, Bhosley, Talt Mehmood and Shyamal Mitra. Would anyone be kind enough to let me know where and how to find those songs!

The genius has been under-rated all through his life and has never been accorded any recognition commensurate with his immense talent that no words can justify. Only those who truly understand music will appreciate how great he was. The intrinsic tapestry he weaved, his experimentation with newer genres and the outputs are there for everyone to judge.As a diehard fan of the great Salilda, I would have been happier had he been accorded the status by everyone (media, people and the government) he really deserved.
