Assam has produced many talented musicians. Bhupen Hazarika (Assamese: ? Bhupen Hazôrika) is noteworthy a multi-faceted artist from Assam. Bhupen Hazarika is famous for his unique crisp voice and flawless diction. He is also known for his poetic compositions and parables that ranges over a variety of themes - both social ans political. He is extremely famous for his folk music. He is also a music director and worked on many films in various different languages. He is also a known voice in neighbor state Assam, country Bangladesh. He has also sung many songs in Bengali and Hindi.
Bhupen Hazarika
Born on September 8, 1926, he wrote is first song at a tender age of 10 and worked for the second Assamese Takie - “Indramalati” in 1939 when he was only 12 years old.He completed his Intermediate Arts from Cotton College, Guwahati, Assam in 1942, and went on to Banaras Hindu University to complete his B.A. in 1944 and his M.A. in Political Science in 1946. He earned a Ph.D. from Columbia University, New York, USA in 1954, submitting a dissertation titled “Proposals for preparing India’s basic education to use audio-visual techniques in adult education”.In 1992, he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for lifetime achievements in cinema. on 8th feb. 2008 he got the Life Time Achievement Award in cinema .

Thanks for doing a great job. But why have you put question mark after ‘Assamese?’. Bhupen Hazorika definitely does not deserve this. After seven decades of his effort to make Assamese people realise what it means to be Assamese he definitely does not expect a question mark on he being Assamese. He is a pure assamese born to assamese parents in assam and more assamese than any assaese in the world.Please rectify it
