Zubeen Garg is now a famous name is Assam, well in India, well in Asia too!! The young and bright singer is now actually got a studio in Mumbai – the Bollywood City. Zubeen started learning Tabla at an early age from Robin Banerjee and later learned Assamese Folk Songs from Guru Ramani Roy. Zubeen’s life had a turning point when he received the gold medal for his western solo performance in the youth festival held in 1992. Zubeen has already sung more than 7000 songs in various movies including:
Fizaa, Kante, Mudda, Brides Wanted, Gangster, Pyaar ke side effect, Good boy bad boy, Jimmy, Kya love story hai, Big brother, Victoria no.203, Bombay to goa, Bombay to Bangkok, Ashaayen, The train, Raqib, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.
Zubeen acted, co-produced and scored music in another Assamese film Dinabandhu, which got national award in 2005.
Awards and Acheivements:
- Global Indian Film Awards (GIFA) (2006)- Best playback singer (Male) for the song “Ya Ali”.
- Max Stardust Awards (2007)- New Musical Sensation (Male) for the song “Ya Ali”.
- Nominated for Film Fare Awards (2007)- Best Play Back Singer.
Zubeen has completed another important album based on the songs of the great composer S.D. Burman which will be released shortly. He is also releasing his first solo Bangla album – Tumi before the puja this year.
