There are numerous bangla typing softwares available these days. Some can be used directly within the “html” code to write a page in Bengali and for others you have to scan the bangla document and post it as image file. If you search online, you will fill 100s of sites discussing about Free Bangla Typing Softwares! They will discuss about the benefits and problems for each one! But if you not an “advanced user” you probably don’t need to understand all that explanations! The goal for this write up is to prove you with a FREE and SIMPLE to use bangla typing software.

Recommended Softwares:

1. Bangla Word:

BanglaWord is a smart word processing application, specifically designed for writing Bengali documents. Bangla text is entered using only the vowels (swarabarnas) and the consonant (banjonbarnos). The conjunct characters (juktho okkors) are placed automatically by the system if possible otherwise when indicated by the user. Bengali alphabet is mapped phonetically on to the standard QWERTY keyboard, independent of any Bangla font. This minimize the initial learning curve and removes the need for a physical layout template.
In addition to the above, BanglaWord now allows you to send emails directly from the application as both attached BanglaWord documents and RTF format text.

3. Shabdik

This is one of the less known bangla typing software! I am not sure why people are not very much aware of this awsome bangla typing software. The most important feature that I like is the in built dictionary! Specially if you are publishing lots of E-books in bangla, you will love to have this cool software. You type just few letters, and it will suggest you multiple words from the dictionary. They have the full version at a small cost. The free version also works great. Probably the Dictionary feature is not fully functional in the free version. This is also UNICODE based bangla typing software.
